This is a deliberate distinction based on two different applications of the term:
1. ‘brand semantics’ (lowercase)
This refers to the field, method or marketing approach — much like ‘content marketing’, ‘SEO’ or ‘branding’.
It is written in lowercase because it represents a category of activities rather than a proper noun.
We use this format when discussing:
methodology,
strategy,
semantic processes,
market competencies.
Example: ‘Brand semantics is the new standard for communication in the AI era.’
2. ‘Brand Semantics’ (capitalised)
This is the name of our agency — Brand Semantics.
It follows the same rule as names like Apple, Deloitte, HubSpot or Semrush.
Capital letters denote the company’s proper name.
Example: ‘Brand Semantics implements linguistic strategies for brands across Europe.’
